Matthew Burnett

As an architect and strategist at Gehl, Matthew is responsible for various life-first design and urban planning projects with organizations in Australia, Scandinavia, Asia and Europe. Passionate about sustainability, systems thinking, and interdisciplinary design processes with an academic background in architecture, strategic design, and entrepreneurship at the Royal Danish Academy and Copenhagen Business School, Matthew combines his interests with a unique ability to bridge creative, strategic and technical thinking to address global social-ecological agendas at the human scale. When he’s not in the office, Matthew spends his time developing a prop-tech and urban consulting startup called ‘Make Room,’ and loves to be immersed in nature through rock climbing, hiking, doing ecstatic dance, and roasting in the sauna.
