A mixed-use neighborhood for Mountain View
The master plan envisions a vibrant, forward-thinking hub where social connection, livability, and inclusivity converge to create an unparalleled neighborhood experience. The holistic planning approach aims to foster belonging, inspire positive change, and drive long-term economic vitality and community enrichment while setting an example for walkable, mixed-use developments in Silicon Valley.
The public space network is the heart of the project: a series of lush, green parks and plazas that weave through the site to create a vibrant hub of activity while enhancing urban biodiversity with a range of flora and fauna. The landscape design utilizes practices including rewilding, biodiversity, ecology resilience and climate adaption to create sustainable green spaces, and the mobility network provides a safe network of streets and pathways for pedestrians, bikes, and vehicles. Gehl served as lead master planner with a team of consultants to deliver a holistic and implementable plan for Presidio Bay Ventures.
